Peter Ekwiri: “A Testimony of Refugee Dumping”
Peter  Ekwiri, whom was dumped in Ghana in the end of the 90s, is back in Sweden. In this talk Peter Ekwiri himself will bear witness on the praxis and consequenses of Swedish refugee politics. Peter  Ekwiri was one of many refugees that was deported back to Ghana in spite of his origin in Sudan and Uganda, haunted by conflicts, he fled via Ethiopia. We met him in a former slave fortress in Accra which has been rebuilt into a prison where he had been kept without trial during three years. This meeting was also one of the reasons why we started Clandestino Festival in 2003. The case of Peter Ekwiri is again of immediate interest since he has now been denied asylum once again at the same time as he has received no answers to the questions of the assaults that the Swedish migration authorities have commited against him.
