French electro-punk Oriental Group Speed Caravan is fronted by oud virtuoso Mehdi Haddab (the initiated Clandestino nerd remembers him from DuOuds concert at the Music House 2003). Speed Caravan released their debut album Kalashnik Love on Newbled records Anticraf last year and has since toured constantly in Europe, USA, Mexico and the Middle East with eminent guests such as Rachid Taha. The innermost core also includes bassist Pascal Teillet and electro musician Hermione Frank. Together they create a magical sound triangle impregnated with rock energy, electro trance and Mehdis oud acrobatics taking the Arab lute far beyond its traditional symbol. This will be their first live gig in Sweden, and with them they have none other than MC Spex (UK) of Asian Dub Foundation.
