Warm Up with dÉbruit May 20th at Secret Garden, Nefertiti It is with a blossoming international career including 6 EPs, applauded gigs in all part of the world as well as commissions to design covers and features in music magazines that French dÉbruit will play his amazing live set for the first time within Sweden. His infinite electric music has been recognized and led to remix orders for Black Devil Disco Club, Zero7, Grovesnor (Hot Chip), Rusko, Lee Scratch Perry, Kotchy, Architeq, Q-Tip, Om’Mas Keith, Daedelus, Pollyn among others. dÉbruit’s original and border crossing production is in its base a hybrid of a type of futuristic p-funk and boosted hiphopbeats with a unique rhythm and musicality. That the Frenchman even uses the best rhythms and elements from all dance music (house, dubstep, 2 step, broken beats, miami bass, bailefunk, ghettotech, etc) and samples Latin American, African and Arabian music makes is difficult to try to place him in any sort of current genre within dance music. On dÉbruit’s site he describes his sound as Heavy Wonky Beats, Synth Magic, Bump Hop, Kwaito House Riddims, French B-Boy Electro, Westcoast hiphop & Hiphouse. Following a first quick listening one can easily judge dÉbruit’s production as unique, as it is often topped with slightly sugared and RnB:ish (but oh so rhythmic) talkbox voices. It is first when one gives the wonky beats one’s full attention that one understands that they build to an unforeseen level which his contemporary dance music producer colleagues are unable to reach. That dÈbruit unpretentiously is equally influenced by commercial sound representations as well as alternative leads to his huge success. Completely uncompromising he creates an experimental sound that is as attractive for a wide group: dubstepheads, housekids, jazz musicians, hip hoppers as well as the dance youth who would really prefer to hear something they recognize on the dance floor. His music will have a huge influence on creative dance music for many years to come. If you ‘re not already sold you will be when you dance as never before under dÉbruits 1 hour live – set on this seasons conclusion of Secret Garden at Nefertiti the 20th of May where Clandestino promotes a global warm-up leading up to the festival.
