Alo Wala and Senyawa to Botnik

CLANDESTINO BOTNIK 25–27 JULY

Clandestino Botnik July 25–27 is our festival excursion to the countryside of Bohuslän. During three summer days, the festival settles down at the artist-run farm Botnik Studios, with artists such as the ethio-jazz legend Mulatu Astatke and José González among the already booked acts. Alo Wala and Senyawa are the latest additions to the program.

Alo Wala is a transatlantic collaboration between the Brooklyn based MC/singer/producer Shivani Ahlowalia, and the Danish tropical bass-group Copia Doble Systema. Ahlowalia mixes melodies and poetic influences from her family’s background in Indias Punjab-region with beats from New York’s hip hop-scene. The live performances are completed with samplers, synthesizers, lots of percussion (played by a former marching band percussionist) and colorful visuals by Copia Doble Systema. The result? A bass-heavy, highly energetic, cocky and fun global-rave-party! | Read more & listen

He plucks, grinds and drums on his peculiar instrument and thus creates anything from fragile melodies to beats and pure noise.| Read more & listen
