GROUP A

GrouA_WEBB

On the borderlands between music and performance art, the Japanese duo Group A has found an engaging and challenging expression as visual as it is auditory. Their combination of minimal wave and avant noise propelled by their powerful live performances has shocked audiences from day one. In the spirit of their predecessors Nissenmondai, they mix explosive sound attacks with more suggestive rhythms, using synth, song, violin, drums, and cassette tapes.

Since the group was formed in 2012 by Tommi Tokyo and Sayaka Botanik, Group A have grown to become one of the big names on the Japanese noise scene and have worked with artists such as Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O., Merzbow, Nissenmondai, Phew, and Melt -Banana.

With their third and latest album 70+ a = their hypnotic obscure industrial and electronic elements have reached the underground hearts of Europe.
