Where are we headed when climate change runs amok, we manipulate DNA, and eradicate species? What happens to our inner and outer landscape? With inspiration from astronomer Carl Sagan’s view of the world, the project Astroekologi shows the contrast between science and the individual’s relationship to nature. How mankind tries to find patterns in the individual’s existence—to understand it, control it, and feel safe.

The artist and poet Johannes Heldén has since his 2003 debut Burner grown to become one of Sweden’s most interesting experimental poets. His latest collection Astroekologi describes a dystopian future where species are extinct but where nature finds ways to exist outside of our civilization.

At Clandestino he meets the duo Wildbirds & Peacedrums, consisting of Mariam Wallentin and Andreas Werliin, in a unique combination of music, poetry, and art.
