CLANDESTINO FESTIVAL, JUNE 5–7

MAZAHER & NASS MAKAN

After a magical concert in the barn at Clandestino Botnik 2014, Mazaher is back!  With drums, mangour (a clancing belt made of goat hoofs), fluits and call- and response singing they present zar – ritual music from the south of Egypt and Sudan, that for centuries has been the music of the women and the poor.

Both groups perform regularly at the culture center Makan in Cairo, with whom Clandestino is taking part in an exchange project since 2013. | Read more & listen

This is live music that throws itself into the unknown and takes almost every risk possible.| Read more & listen

He creates rhythmical illusions that demolish every expectation – in a dangerously danceable way. | Read more & listen

GROUP RHODA
